Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors

Executive Management Team

What I Do

As the Chief Executive Officer, my primary responsibility is as a fiduciary for our shareholders. This means that I work on behalf of our shareholders to fulfill our mission to provide monthly dividends that increase over time. In this capacity, I generally oversee all of our operations and am responsible for creating the company's strategy and making sure that it is successfully implemented. I also monitor our current economic environment and analyze the factors that can impact our operations now and in the future. In the end, the CEO's job is to be responsible for generating returns for the owners of the business (the shareholders), while being mindful of the risks that are taken to achieve those returns.

Background

I joined Realty Income in 1987 and served in a variety of executive positions before assuming the Chief Executive Officer role in 1997. Prior to joining Realty Income I was an executive with another real estate company, an investment specialist with an investment firm and worked in marketing for Procter & Gamble. The diversity of my career provided me with the opportunity to develop a familiarity with a wide variety of the different professional disciplines used in business. In addition, my involvement with individual investors as a financial advisor early in my career offered me a real world perspective about what's important to investors relying on investment income. I understand that to these investors, monthly dividends are a necessity, not a luxury.

Other Information

I serve as an independent director, on the board of directors of another New York Stock Exchange listed Real Estate Investment Trust and am involved in a variety of real estate industry organizations.

Favorite Activities: Reading about and researching investing, economics and world affairs. Spending time in Hawaii, where I lived during my high school and college years, and playing golf (when I have time).
