What I Do

As the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Realty Income, I direct all of the company's capital markets, investor relations and financial reporting activities. I'm responsible for Realty Income's ongoing dialogue with investment bankers and analysts, commercial bankers, rating agencies, auditors, as well as the company's stock and bond holders. Another important role for me is as a member of our Investment Committee, which reviews and approves all of our property investments. Another activity that I'm responsible for and which I greatly enjoy is directing our annual on-campus college recruiting effort.

Background

Before I joined Realty Income in 2001, I spent 14 years working as an investment banker for both Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. As a banker, I executed over 70 common and preferred stock, bond, and merger and acquisition financings for 30 different real estate clients, raising over $25 billion of new capital. My initial public offering clients included Realty Income, as I was the company's investment banking advisor during the initial listing of the company on the New York Stock Exchange in 1994. After that, as an investment banker, I was deeply involved in the company's early growth and public capital markets strategy, participating in all of the company's capital raising transactions, before joining the company as Chief Financial Officer in 2001.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and management from The University of Virginia, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Stanford Business School. I currently serve as an interviewer for Stanford Business School applicants from the San Diego area.

Other Interests

I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from McDonogh School, where I now sponsor an annual scholarship that I founded and named after my parents. I'm an avid sports fan, and enjoy playing basketball and golf. I have been very involved in my local community as a baseball and basketball coach and, most recently as a Nation Chief of the YMCA Adventure Guides program.
