Senior Vice President, Acquisitions
Mr. Tomlinson’s primary responsibility is to uncover new property investment opportunities. In this capacity, he works directly with existing tenant groups, private equity firms and other corporations in various industries to assess their real estate and capital needs. Mr. Tomlinson also works with investment banks and various real estate brokerage firms in an advisory role to assess current market conditions and provide sale-leaseback structures for their clients who are looking to turn the real estate they may own into cash that can be used for other purposes.
Mr. Tomlinson originally joined Realty Income in 1999 and worked in a variety of capacities, including as an Acquisitions Director and Real Estate Portfolio Manager. He left the company in 2006 to work in the franchise finance group at Merrill Lynch Capital. Subsequent to that, Mr. Tomlinson joined another net lease financing firm in 2008 as a Senior Acquisitions Director until 2010, when he rejoined Realty Income as an Associate Vice President and Director of Acquisitions. Mr. Tomlinson was promoted to Vice President, Senior Director of Acquisitions in 2011, and his current role in December 2015. Through his roles in other companies, he continued to learn more about other financing alternatives and the advantages and disadvantages of each of these various financing methods.
Mr. Tomlinson graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and continued studies at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with a focus on Finance.
